Ignore the many complaints of price of this course. This, Seeley, observed, was a major departure for a discipline whose practitioners eschew self-revelation, as a rule, and one of few times where practitioner and patient at times suffered the same malaise.

Seeley underscores the inadequacy of the DSM diagnostic system, illustrating that disoriented survivors met neither the criteria for PTSD, since the trauma was on-going [the fires burned till the following January and the stench extended for miles] nor Acute Stress Disorder, where symptoms generally terminate in weeks. The colors are also quite different. Obviously, it was an error of judgement on my part and with such a cover, I should have anticipated such scenes, but I can't help but have them affect my rating and my enjoyment of this book.
