But the spark and drive of the people doesn't come across at all, because the author has no feel for the subject. The book is actually bigger than i thought it would be! It came with A4 size and hard-binded red cover, very beautifully printed. Any reasonably well-read layman will gain much from reading this book.. One development he fails to mention is the invention of the daguerreotype, the first practical photography system in 1839, donated to the world, except to England, by France. It's not the units that bother me it's getting accustomed to them. A greater depth and detail about this area is found in a recently published treatize on Capillarity and Wetting Phenomenon, that she co-authored with David Quere and PG deGennes. What it is not, is a photo book; apart from a few mugshots, assorted crime scene evidence photos, and some snapshots, this is all text, Lyon's first such effort.
