I was surprised to learn some things I never knew even though I am an experienced parent! The book is easy to read and understand and I love the real life examples he gives.. In addition to the techniques, the book teaches you to continuously look for "self defence potential" of each item you run across. If you want a good advanced engineering math book I suggest C. An interesting avenue of investigation not pursued by the author--one of very few--would have been psychiatric triage and follow-up. Those were signatures to me of a thorough grasp of the language that could only be acquired after years immersed into the language surrounded by native speakers. Great book, enjoyed them all.
